Artist Details
Steffan Johnson is an artist from Caerphilly, South Wales. He graduated with a BA degree from the Carmarthen University in 2005. Steffan found his interest in art when he was studying at school, and has pursued painting and drawing since, but found his creative niche in oil paintings and mixed media drawings.
Johnson’s work has recently been inspired by the history of his home village, Machen, as well as the aesthetics of oil paints and also painting plein air.
He has been shortlisted this year for the Kyffin Williams Drawing Prize held in Oriel Ynys Mon, Llangefni.
His aim is to create artwork that is “both appreciative of the aesthetics of our land and also uplifting in its approach."
